Styx was giving a free concert here years ago. I stopped being able to handle crowds, so I wouldn’t have been able to see them. However Styx without Dennis DeYoung is just not Styx. Considering the only hit they’ve had in the last 30 years was when he rejoined them for a bit I guess there are others who feel the same. Yes, I know James and Tommy hated doing “Kilroy Was Here”, but “Mr. Roboto” was one of their biggest selling songs. At least Journey had a medical excuse for replacing Steve Perry. I was worried when Queen was going to play without Freddie, but Adam Lambert is great and I can totally see Freddie approving. I am not consistent with my beliefs though considering I preferred Van Halen with Sammy over David. I did enjoy David’s solo song “Yankee Rose”.
