And yes, it’s pronounced “base”. Why, I don’t know. Or maybe the fish should be called “base” and the instrument should be called “bass”. Or maybe I shouldn’t be bothering people with such a stupid comment.

The tuba got stolen from the band room when I was in high school and was found in a field several blocks away. The case was gone, so I suppose the thief just wanted a large, oddly shaped hardshell suitcase for some reason.
