This is more of a symbolic victory at best, okay, so he was the 2nd most wanted man after Osama, but how old was he by the time he finally got what he deserved, he may have died of natural causes in a week, a month, a year? Who knows, but he enjoyed too many years of freedom after committing his crimes. Now that the big rat is dead, he left hundreds if not thousands of smaller ones in the nest, waiting to grow in power! Yes, I’m glad the U.S. got another target, but let us hope we don’t end up back to square one in a few years from today!
Trump never wanted to take out top al-Qaeda target al-Zawahiri because he didn’t recognize his name
Reporting in early 2020, NBC News reported that intelligence officials briefed then-President Trump many times about the most worrisome terrorist threats, specifically mentioning al-Zawahri.
Trump “was more interested in a young and less influential figure much farther down the list, according to two people familiar with the briefings, because he recognized the name,” the report said at the time.
Trump didn’t know who the Iranian leader he just assassinated was four years ago
President Donald Trump didn’t know who the powerful Iranian General Qassem Soleimani was when he was running for president in 2015. On Friday, he ordered Soleimani’s assassination.
During a September 2015 interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump confused the Iranian Quds Forces — an elite military force — with the Kurdish ethnic group.
When Hewitt asked Trump for his thoughts on Soleimani and other prominent militant group leaders, Trump insisted there was no reason he should be familiar with them.
“As far as the individual players, of course I don’t know them. I’ve never met them. I haven’t been in a position to meet them,” Trump said.
There’s already a new RAT leader…it’s never ending and now I’m sure we’ll have more attacks in America….just add it to all the gun violence we already have…
hmmm…but then the Taliban walked into $80 billion in state of the art U.S. military hardware and a $2 trillion dollar fully equipped and operational airbase and BTW are there still Americans in Kabul…LGB…
what’s the difference between blowing up a thorn in the US side with a rocket and the Saudis getting rid of thorn in their side with a saw ,is it just depend on what side you’re on
what’s the difference between killing a terrorist who’s a pain in your side with a rocket and killing a journalist who’s a pain in your side with a saw, is it just what side you’re on, or how dirty you decide to get your hands
I wonder if it really happened it was the CIA who said it happened!!! Yet the Afghan Interior Minister spokesman says it was an empty house!!! Of course Biden thinks it happened on his watch!!!! Hahahahahahaahhahahahahaha
When the military got Saddam, Neocons praised Bush to the heavens as a great leader. When Obama got OBL, they angrily declared that he deserved no credit and all credit go to the military and Bush, even though Bush had given up on even looking for him. Now we get OBL’s second in command, and I notice that Ramirez labels it an American victory with no mention of Biden.
Good hit. For those interested, al-Zawahiri was the recipient of two Hellfire AGM-114R9X variants, known affectionately as “the Flying Ginzu”, traveling at about Mach 1.3. These babies pop out six blades weighing a total of about one hundred pounds prior to impact. As one might imagine al-Zawahiri was reduced to a red mist and fine particles, maybe a few chunks the consistency of hamburger. Gruesome, but a very quick way to go. One moment you’re standing on the balcony outside your room, a split second later you have redecorated the entrance and the room with a fine layer of your body.
