Is Merlin stoned then?

“I probably won’t finish this ’til the stone age!” And, of course that exactly what happened… uh… will happen… uh? whatever.

Not as good a paradox as in “Predestination” but still good enough.

I’ve wondered how Merlin could have a conversation with anyone if he perceives time backwards.

I tend to take Boody’s advice whenever I watch an impenetrable anime. Try not to think about it too much. Just enjoy.

Merlin (also known as Myrddin, Merlinus) is the great wizard of the Arthurian Legends best known from Sir Thomas Malory’s Le Morte D’Arthur (1469 CE). The character was created by Geoffrey of Monmouth in his History of the Kings of Britain (1136 CE) where he first appears as a wise and precocious youth with prophetic powers.

Merlinus to me as an alchemist full of esoteric knowledge. Myrddin knew what was to come and could do nothing to change that history. A fascinating character for a mythical time.

Ooookay. Sorry, but my academic background is screaming! Stonehenge was built in the Neolithic. Neolithic means ‘new stone age’. Usually connected to the rise af agriculture, though there are some questions on that. Bottom line is that it was started and finished in the ‘stone age’. Oh well, never mind. I’ll be quiet now.

It must have been difficult for Merlin’s parents. He would have been full grown when they were little kids.

It’s as Captain Janeway said. Don’t even try to rationalize temporal paradoxes….

That’s a real skill he has there, talking “backwards” and anticipating questions and everything else “before” it all happens, then…

For once, I’m in complete sympathy with the silly Scots k’nig’ht! (I’m using the “French” pronunciation — why else would I have this outrageous accent?)

If living Backwards was Easy, everyone would be doing it.
