National Comic Book Day? That surely explains today’s “Barney and Clyde”.

Although I slightly prefer DC: what? No Marvel characters?

I was a comic book fan when I was a teenager in the 1970s, and many people thought I was too OLD for it. The idea that comics were for kids was still prevalent.

I, for one, wish the comic book movie/tv shows would run its course and fade away. I stopped going to movie theaters during Covid and have not found anything to draw me back. I keep hoping it is just a phase and will disappear like other fads have but so far no luck. I’m afraid it will outlast me. Oh well, there is always books….not comic ones.

My wife is a MCU maven and says there are movies I wouldn’t understand without the comic book background.

I started spending my allowance on comic books in the ’60’s. My parents did not like that! I had to hide them,

I also bought Gold Key and Dell comics. Gold Key had “Bonanza”, “The Wild, Wild West,” and “Daniel Boone”. Dell had a lot of TV and movie titles.
