At least he waited till October. I’ve seen some houses decorated two weeks ago. Stores put out Halloween candy bags before Labor Day.

Our son loved Halloween so much that we put him in charge of decorating each year. He did a great job and still does as an adult. One year it included a giant spider web dominating the dining room complete with six-foot spider.

My wife always wanted a big inflatable ghost for our front lawn, but could never bring herself to actually go through with it. Our kids are all gone with kids of their own, so she thought it would be a little weird. After much debate, she finally bought one for my birthday last year. It was a neighborhood hit. Then we moved to a condo and we can’t put things like that up (and there are no kids anyway). Sigh.

The name of the bathroom would be funny in the UK, appropriate too.

If she’s worn out he should advise the bedroom, if he makes her sick send her to the slasher bathroom.

What till the “Eating guts from the Jack-O-lantern” supper. Pasta and thick tomato sauce oozing out of the orifices. Family style. With no napkins. And of course Jello.

The Mrs already has the Halloween specific decorations pulled out and ready to go up on the 11th right after we pull down the Thanksgiving stuff. And she still wants to do USAian Thanksgiving in November. (We are ex-pats semi-retired to Beautiful British Columbia) One can really cultivate a love/hate for holidays when one decorates for them all and has several (USAian, Canadian, Scottish) calendars to follow. Speaking of Scottish things, Scotch eggs for afternoon tea today. And Canadian things, the first batch of Nanaimo bars!!!! (Triple Chocolate, of course)

The first Sunday in October? You mean when stores start putting up Christmas decorations?

Appropriate name for the bathroom, err, toilet as "having a slash " is slang for urinating
