Looked at Teslas online tonight, just canât justify one. I have a Buick suv that I use as a truck, great mpg and the yellow Vette that runs on 4 cylinders around town. Iâd lke a tesla, theyâd be fun
Weâll see in about 5 more years when itâs time to replace the batteries just what the overall cost is then. BTW, who would ever buy a used 5 year old EV?
I know electric cars are the future but, I miss the vroom, vroom, vroom. Iâll keep driving my Camaro until I canât anymore. After then, I wonât care âcause Iâll probably wonât be driving anymore.
The economics for EV and hybrids will probably change after the next election or two once they start charging road tax or a mileage tax so everyone contributes to maintaining the roads we all drive on. Politicians talk about needing more money for roads and bridges but a tax on EV isnât consistent with the current narrative. Neither battery technology or the electric grid (power generation and distribution) are ready for EV. Someone said recently âcart before the horseâ, forgot who so I canât give credit where due.

So Cosmo, are you going to be running on low-octane today? Or just on fumes?

This joke is about six months too late. Gas here is down more than a $1, and is now just slightly above where it was a year ago.
