You shouldn’t willfully make yourself dirty!

Love a young boys quest for scientific knowledge. Today we learned about gravity and displacement. Yeah

Maybe he’s practicing for his space splashdown.

Red obeyed Rover’s suggestion! He didn’t go into the mud, lol! I giggled this morning ;)

I’m relatively new to this strip.

Has Red ever been spanked for doing things like that?

I can remember similar circumstances where Dennis the Menace was in his “timeout corner” with stars coming from his rear end!!

When I was about 8-9, my best friend was Taffy. Taffy had freckles, which she hated. I remembered reading somewhere (I had 2 older, teenage sisters) that mud packs were great for your skin, which I translated to “get rid of freckles”. We had a foot-wide hole at the end of our driveway which made a perfect mud puddle when it rained. I talked Taffy into trying it out and, because I’m such a good friend, I did it, too. Our mothers were NOT amused.

Red is typical boy. But, should listen to Rover more often. LOL…

The last panel should have shown a completely clean Rover….

And just what did you think that would get you, Red? Less punishment than if you jumped in? More fun?

A good and dirty kid is a positive sign of not having his or her face crammed into a smart phone or some other electronic device. The dirtier the better!

For the record, my wife and I have cleaned up many muddy messes. Some were pretty bad, but I still stand behind my previous comment.
