I went out yesterday and used my riding mower to blow the leaves off of the mile or so of gravel road leading into my property. Beats the heck out of trying to rake then up…
For a couple weeks I had a big fat yellow striped orb weaver spider at the top of my walkway – it made its web in a way that gave me enough head clearance to walk under without stooping. 2 days ago I plucked a leaf off the web and accidentally broke the support line. It has since moved to an unknown location :(

Autumn means ending, dying or something like that. Fall was “fall of leaf” then was shortened. Not that hard to figure out.

The same question could be asked about summer and winter. Spring makes some sense at least. Why is anything called what it it is ?
