Funny, when was the last time an ump called the actual strike zone?

He’s gotta strike out at one point.

According to the MLB web site:

“The official strike zone is the area over home plate from the midpoint between a batter’s shoulders and the top of the uniform pants — when the batter is in his stance and prepared to swing at a pitched ball — and a point just below the kneecap.”

So pulling his pants up would actually lengthen the strike zone slightly by raising the midpoint between his shoulders and the pants.

Meanwhile, Albert Pujols just passed Babe Ruth in the all-time RBI department. He also sits 4th in the all-time HR department. Very little mention by the media about those accomplishments.

Of course, of all the crappy MLB teams to give up number 62, it just HAD to be the Texas Rangers.

I notice Yankee fans seem to love Maris now, but when he was setting that record, many of them hated him because he wasn’t Mantle doing it.
