I have been reading Gil Thorp for at least 60 years. It may be time to quit.

I got a fever, and the only cure is more Madame Yonkers.

“MISTER Thorp? Did you call me MISTER Thorp? It’s STATE CHAMPION COACH Thorp – DOC! Got it? Good. Now let me show YOU what’s up, Doc. Wanna nibble my carrot?”

P2.5 “To get you ready for class, let me lift your nose to the proper angle so you can go in there with the proper nasal and snooty attitude.”

P3 I don’t speak French, but I would guess that roughly translates to “What, me, work?”

P2- I must be dreaming. Granny Pearl inhibited at the fountain of youth and looks like Lou Holtz in drag.

The principal is acting like Gil has nothing else to do. So now who’s gonna teach Gil’s PE classes? This strip is getting more like professional wrestling every day—no rules, no relation to reality, do whatever seems entertaining at the time.

Unless the Gilfather finds his next all-state QB in French class, today’s strip is a total waste of ink, band width and time. Much like the past couple of weeks.

Gil is píssed because he has to actually work today. And speaking of work, you don’t have to work too hard to read today’s Mopped Up Thorp.

Yonkers is a city. Is anyone actually named “Yonkers”? And it’s a corruption of a Dutch word, not French.

Doc Pearl sees through Gil’s wandering around the hallways carrying a book, so people think he is busy working.

C’mon, Gil! How hard is this? OK, kids, study hour!

To liven the weekend up: Toby and Pedro go to a Halloween Party where the theme is “Hollywood Celebrities who identify as famous Rock songs”. Thy win when Tobi, then Pedro announce: “I am the Rock”, “I am Jill Ireland”.

Gil will spend the whole hour trying to find France on a world map. He will spend the first 25 minutes searching for it in South America, because he’s sure that’s where geography expert Kaz said it was.

P2: Is that a mole on Dr. Pearl’s face? Mole….mole….mole….
