Years ago I was on a break at my job as a server, sitting at an empty table eating my lunch enjoying my book when another server came over claiming “You look bored!” before forcing me into one of the most mind-numbing conversations I cannot recall. She was a sweet girl, and well intentioned, but if certain people are reading a book we most definitely are NOT bored!
BAH – quit complaining – it’s not raining. When I lived in Michigan, any day when it wasn’t raining was not to be wasted. It was a rare beautiful day to be outside. Staying inside and reading books was strictly a rainy day activity – and there were plenty of rainy days.
Ah yes. I remember boredom. It seems almost unbearable at that age. What I wouldn’t give for a little sweet, sweet boredom now, to be free of all responsibilities for a time.

Reading can be fun, Kevin, just have to find something that works for you.

Kevin should try it. It would be a brilliant story arc if Kevin found himself liking a book and not sure how to handle it

The joy of reading is contagious. Better avoid bookworms.

If you think the grass is boring, try mowing it.

Miles is obviously a guy of good old fashioned simple pleasures.
