Heâs cute, but yes, he should get a smaller fork. My siblings and I had our own children sized cutlery with cute animals on them. We learned to hold forks and spoons properly from the start without a problem. When I see little children hold a giant fork or spoon in their tiny fists, I get a cramp in my hand just from watching them. Thatâs a spoon, not a shovel.
Iâm kinda embarrassed to explain why Iâve always needed a tablespoon at my setting. I learned early on that I could eat faster and fill my mouth more completely, than when I had to use a teaspoon.
In the past, we had some fairly large potlucks, so we have service for about 40. Our limit is the capacity of the dishwasher. Dishes one day, laundry the next, repeat.
I refuse to use the âkid forksâ even if I AM eating a salad! My objective is to get the meal over with as quickly as possible so as to be able to move on to bigger and better things. Life is too short to waste lingering over meals any longer than necessary. (Yep, some people live to eat â Iâm definitely one who only eats to live).
hubby likes a bigger fork just because it is more comfortable for him to hold. I donât mind the smaller salad fork. In some cases I prefer the long handled, small bowled parfait spoon.

I try to only run our dishwasher twice a week, sometimes the only forks and spoons left are the little ones

Wow! Theyâve been listening to conversations my husband and I have (not the subject matter as much as the flying by one another.)
