Why didn’t Dick “The Fixer” Bavetta become an MLB umpire? He was the go-to referee when there were teams and players David Stern wanted to see in the finals (think Charles Barkley and the Suns in 1993). That was when the NBA became the WWE for me.

Ahh those were Happy Days, 1955, The Fonze’s favorite year. The Yankees lost the World Series to the Brooklyn Dodgers, with a lineup of names that any Jeopardy player would still reply, “What is baseball?”

Dodgers: Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Sandy Koufax, Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Tom Lasorda

Yankees: Casey Stengel, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Mickey Mantle, Phil Rizzuto.

At the very least they should punish the Astros players for cheating.

Before 2004, I used to think it would be a sign of the end times, if the Red Sox were to play the Cubs in the World Series. I did not think that the universe wanted either team to ever win again.

Plenty of fans outside of Media are happy that neither NYC or LA are in the WS!

A lot of people felt the Sacremento Kings were robbed in the 2002 Western Finals versus the Lakers as well. I have a friend who is a diehard Lion fan and he is sure the NFL rigged a 2015 playoff game between his Lions and those pesky Cowboys, claiming the refs were “under orders” from Roger and the boys to bone his Lions as they usually have done throughout time. Plus any fan on the wrong end of a controversial ending of an NFL or NBA game that affected the outcome on a Vegas line (regardless of win or loss) would always demand an inquiry into if relatives of the referees bet the bank against the team they bet on……

Good game last night! Who cares if it was a “combined no-hitter”?

About Don Larsen’s perfect game in 1956—that was part of an even gr ander tank job.

In the last three games,Brooklyn scored 1 run in 28 innings.Shut out in games 5 and 7,won game 6 1-0 in 10 innings(only because of an outfield error).

June Yankees vs August Dodgers would have been epic, but this series is turning out pretty well for those who still watch after they’re out of it.

Maybe 70 years ago. Nobody cares about that rivalry anymore.

It’s great when we get to make the networks cry. If the Astros win, Joe Buck might stroke out.
