Early Christians used to worship in houses with the women in charge. The clergy were allowed to marry. So, what’s the problem? The Middle Ages ended a half milennium ago. In 1522, Martin Luther and Ulrich Zwingli were in full Protestantism.

They could do worse. In fact, they are.

St. Paul said a bishop must be “the husband of one wife . . . for if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the Church of God?”

The Phillippine’s southern islands are populated with the offspring of Catholic priests over the generations and Spanish is widely spoken on those islands.

A friend in law enforcement told me of incidents they encountered of priests sexually molesting nuns and the catholic church did nothing just like it did with the pedophile priests. Male catholic clergy are afraid to allow women in positions of power because then they would be held accountable for their heinous actions.

I have to check up on where the Catholic Church is today.

When I left it, it was very facist in its orientation, wanting to control all aspects of peoples’ lives, all in the name of servitude to the Church. There wasn’t a lot of emphasis on outreach or service to the community. It was mostly about adding $$$ to the coffers and doing what one can do to “propagate the Faith” (more butts in seats) and do whatever one could for the glory of the Church.
