my brother loves his work too, it’s the distance he doesn’t really care for.

Born and raised on a farm. Tobacco, cotton, corn , soybeans back in 1940’s 50’ and 60’s. Retired Air Force and NC State and Brick Mason. Farming only JOB I ever had.

“Are you still getting paid?” … “We’ll have to get that fixed?”

Only Brutus Thornapple could turn an attempt at Flattery into a Henny Youngman joke without even trying.

Business is in a slump? Only 1 [one] bag of money – unless they are on the floor on the opposite side.

Well, now Veeblefester knows the reason for Brutus’ job performance.

Brutus makes a good straight man, serving up lines like that.

Brutus never misses a chance to stick his foot in his mouth.

Veebs gets hives when an employee tells him he enjoys working there. His immediate thought is he needs to do more to make the employee miserable.

I would have said “I really do” and thank him for the compliment. I have been very fortunate in my work career to have really liked working at each of my jobs, especially now as a professor. Not every day on the job though. As a cop, District Attorney and in the Army, I had some real bad days. I still loved each of those jobs…..

Ouch! Harsh. On another note, Veeblefester seems to be a few bags of money short. He must have taken a beating in the stock market.

Most of the time I enjoyed my job and the people around me. But some days the work and personnel I had to deal made me wonder.
