I was predicting that back in 1990. A burglar with a battery powered skill saw can cut a hole big enough to crawl through in 5 minutes, and if a neighbor hears it in broad daylight, heāll think itās a contractor.
I remember reading a book as a child by Albert Payson Terhune written in the early 1900s. He wrote stories about Collies. In one story, a dog is locked into a shed and the bad guys light a fire to burn it down. The dog throws himself against the door again and again. Terhune points out that the door is often the strongest part, but the dog wouldnāt know that.
And some years back, a firm was advertising an armored door in a Sunday newspaper supplement. āTurn a closet into a safeā the ad said. Of course, the closet walls remain drywall which can be cut through with a box knife.
