    We have black buzzurds in my area, so called because their skin, break, and feathers are black. They have red markings on top of their heads but from below they look like large crows.

    A place I used to live had turkey vultures, lots of them. Here we only see an occasional redtail hawk.

    My Grandfather was none too pleased when a turkey vulture took to sitting atop the power pole across the street from his house.
