    I have several computers and one time I couldn’t get into any of them because they were all updating for about 45 minutes.

    This really hits home for me! I’m running my main Mac at least 4 OS releases behind. I’m very proficient having started in 1984 with the first of a couple of dozen Macs over the years. There are VERY good reasons for hanging back. The most important is the preservation of my 32-bit Adobe Creative Suites. They have gone to a subscription model priced for professionals. I’m one of those “pro-sumers” who use the apps every day but can’t pay hundreds of dollars a year for the privilege. There IS a nice M-1 MacBook Air that I keep up to date :-)
