Hawthorn will need a bigger tube. Ernest will gladly spit as much as Hawthorn wants, even though his aim is off, it makes us all laugh. Hawthorn has found an excellent source of the fish spit he wants. He needs to look no further.

Is there a particular reason we are getting this in black and white?

Hawthorne deserved it for coming up with these hair-brained schemes.

This strip has newly arrived in my local paper so I’m again reading it regularly, and definitely enjoying it But – and I realize this must have been discussed before – I gotta ask about the whole “inconsistent underwater physics” thing, i.e. how does Ernest’s spit behave like they’re not submerged?
