Today is the 100th birthday of Charles “Sparky” Schulz, the creator of Peanuts, so we’re gonna get a lot of congrats today for Schulz!

HOW COOL – Even a Brit remembers to pay tribute to the Greatest Comic Strip creator of all time!

Brothers in miseries – one has to deal with the “Kite-Eating Tree” the other with the canal…

Don’t think that Charlie Brown had money to lend, Andy.

Love seeing a UK comic celebrate a Yank’s. Sparky & Peanuts fostered a number of budding artists & writers throughout the world.

He could always quaff a root beer with Sopwith Camel pilot Snoopy and Bill Maldin.

NOW I get it, a tribute to Mr. Schulz. Cool!

Wow! A lot of cartoonists are honoring Sparky Schulz today! That is so great to see. (I think he got better looking as he got older)

Growing up in the same MinnesotaTwin Cities as Sparky, we have two newspapers. The Minneapolis Tribune that carried Peanuts and St Paul (Where he grew up) Pioneer Press.

We rarely got the Tribune so I didn’t get to see Peanuts all the time till Dad retired and gets both papers.

Well I just saw both papers today, and shocked that no story is in the Tribune but there is one about Sparky, in the St Paul Pioneer Press.

Dad says Charles wanted PP to carry his Peanuts toon but for some reason they didn’t want it so over the Mississippi River the Tribune took it.

Charles Schulz saw to it that no one would continue “Peanuts” after his death. Reg Smythe (1917-98) wasn’t so lucky.

A fitting tribute. Happy 100th Birthday Sparky. You are missed.
