Eggplant poisoning? Well, move over Fugu (Japanese sashimi made from the potentially highly toxic blowfish). Even after the deadly ovaries are very carefully removed from the fish, the remaining neurotoxin will still literally numb your fingers and toes after consuming. A few perish every year when the poison overwhelms the respiratory system. Now we must fear and respect the purple poison/s.

In Medieval Europe people thought eggplant was poisonous and could cause insanity. It has also been thought to be an aphrodisiac.
