That picture will intimidate all who come in to his office.

Around these parts, one can buy life-size statues of owls to keep some birds away. I don’t know if they actually scare birds away, but they do deter them from nesting. We don’t need them. We have at least two different kinds of owls on or near our property.

Sometimes we can see them at night by their eyes shining back from the trees. We have never been able to see them during the day even though we can “triangulate” by ear exactly what tree they must be in.

I really hope that’s not a stuffed owl on the perch!
