Nothing as exhilarating as realizing you can vegetate

I used to get up early on Saturdays to catch all the cartoons.

I guess getting up when you’re a kid depends on what you’re getting up for.;D

When it is colder in your room than it is in your bed, you need a pretty compelling reason to get up.

Those were the days, certainly too cold for school but as soon as our parents left for work we were on the hill sledding

I bet he’ll be up earlier Christmas morning. Like about 3 am.

That stirs a memory or two.

Then he remembered the catch, he had to try to be good ALL DAY!

go out and shovel snow…as per Heart of the City.

Nowadays, I wish I could sleep in and/or laze away in bed, but the assorted aches and pains cause me to arise, though not necessarily shine.

I remember doing that… there were tv shows that I actually enjoyed back then at those long hours at night. then school starts back up again and I can’t finish the story of the shows.

Anyone remember the Banana Splits show on Saturday mornings. Stupid fun and lots of cartoons.

Ah yes, the ability to change with the time!

Nothing like a nice warm stay in bed moment.. till you have to get up for that bathroom break that ruins it all.

Context is everything.

schools here don’t get out until Friday.

I woke to a loud thunder strike near my house at 7 am this morning…

As they say, it’s all relative.

As time passes, you welcome the additional bed time.

He already forgot what he side yesterday about being on vacation.

@angelolady- Same here. Then after “Soul Train” or “American Bandstand”, we went out to play with our friends and our parents didn’t see us until the sun went down! And our parents knew where we were so it wasn’t a problem. And when I got to be teenager, I’d try to get to the basketbal court on Saturday as early as 8 a.m. And if your team lost, you weren’t getting back on the court for at least another hour. Those were some really good times back then! But when the government (most notably the CIA), went down to South America and allowed them to secretly ship their cocaine here, which later could be converted to crack, it was a done deal. In fact, that’s how a fellow HS grad lost her job as a NYC Housing police officer because she got hooked on that mess!

Sometimes, forgetting and then remembering is a really good thing but it can also be bad …

Perspective is everything.

Vacation and snow days meant sleeping late and staying up late

Proving once again that youth is wasted on the young.
