Yeah, yeah, yeh: Bout due to be release in a few years ANYway; and you can’t be glad (even grateful) for a U.S. American’s release and return home? Shame on you, frankly.
He’s been in prison in the US since 2008. He is so far out of the game at this point that he’s worth next to nothing. His contacts are all long since dried up by now. Some may have bounties on him. Interpol has ALL his biometrics (voice, facial rec, DNA, fingerprints, etc). He won’t be able to blow his nose unmonitored.
Quietly, without a lot of fanfare, hoopla or self-aggrandizing, President Biden brings an American back home from a country that is currently waging war in another country whom we are openly supporting with [lots of] military aid and sanctions. And people gripe that he should have done ‘more’. Like bratty kids who are given a blue bike and are made because it isn’t red.
If you think about what all the things that our country and our allies have been doing to Russia for the past year — billions in aid to Ukraine, sanctions against Russia, seizure of Russian oligarch assets — it is pretty darn amazing that President Biden was able to get Britney back at all.
Thank you, President Biden! Welcome home, Britney.
The republican reaction to the viktor bout release has been so the opposite of what one would expect. He is russian and sells guns and ammunition, all things revered by the dangerous extremist republican party in the US.

Bout’s been out of circulation long enough to no longer be a intelligence asset to Putin. Arms trading need sponsor with deep pockets.

I hate that the cartoon Brittney is about to miss that shot. But I guess they didn’t let her practice in jail.

And of course, this has been totally forgotten already. President Biden got a real ex-Marine out of Russia with little fanfare.
