Ya wanna talk about rules, Miles? My credit score is in the 790s BECAUSE I have no outstanding balances on my credit cards: I pay them off at the end of the month. GEEZUS. . .capitalism is crazy . . . or is it just greed?? Lessee, how can I rebel??
As kids, my best friend and I did this all the time. We called it a “suicide,” and dreamed of discovering an amazing new soda flavor. What we got every time tasted like a mixture of swamp water and failure.
At that age I used to like mixing Coke and 7-Up. Well, I was a fat kid and always on a diet, so it was the sugar-free versions, Tab and Like. Of course, it was the days of saccharin- and cyclamate-sweetened diet sodas, so neither one was terribly good to begin with.
But hasn’t it occurred to Kevin that by buying all those flavors to mix, he’s just handing even more money over to Big Soda? The house always wins.
Soda mixing is quite popular here in Utah, so much so that there are businesses that specialize in it, with lines of cars at their drive-throughs. I don’t understand the appeal myself.
I used to create juice drinks by mixing all the juice in the kitchen together. Sometimes it was good, but most of the time it tasted like a strange mix of unidentifiable flavors.

I’d always do that. But after 2-3 flavors they’d always start turning an ugly brownish color and inevitably task like Dr. Pepper.

Poor, naive Kevin. When he’s older he’ll learn freedom tastes like the wheels. The brakes taste more like tyranny.
