He’s right. 2023 is not the same year as 2022. 2023 started with a book report already due.

Time changes, but book reports due dates don’t?

In December 2022, you had a book report due. In January 2023, you have a book report OVERDUE.

He is ahead of me…

I didn’t do that stuff until high school. I was in an honors English class, and had a book report I did not turn in. The teacher was quite mild mannered, and just told me, “You really ought to do this report”… and didn’t scold me or anything. So I didn’t do the following report either. This time she was much more stern with me and told me that since I was not doing the work, I could not stay in her class, and i got transferred to a regular English class… and I had to write the 2 reports anyway.

Book reports are a great way to make children NOT want to read.

Come on, just “take ownership” for your book report. It goes with you, not the river — I mean year.
