I really fail to understand why people try to push other people to change ito their lifestyle. Moreover, WHY is Rasmussen and Delainey so set on making us dislike Betty?
They do make vegan beer. That is, some beers are clarified with isinglass, a gelatin obtained from fish bladders. However, many of the better beers (Guinness, for one) now uses a different method, without animal products, to clarify their beer. Barnivore.com is a good place to learn more about beer from all over the US, and the world, that is vegan and contains no animal products.
Maybe they’’re not. Maybe they’re just writing the truth from their perspective. I don’t particularly dislike Betty or husband – they clearly have worked out a relationship that works for them. None of us are right all the time – They each have their days. Recognizing this might be beyond some peoples range.
I saw the articles describing a dry January, but to add veganism on top of that is a bit much. Next she’ll tell them that they are starting a new gym membership.
Oh horrors! Betty wants her husband and child to learn and experience new things, to stretch their limits, acquire different tastes and live longer! For shame! Betty is the opposite of a door mat and some of you can’t stand it!!
Sorry I love my wife. But if she just decided I was changing my diet and not drinking for a month without asking it would be a fight. I also would never do that to her. This strip is unrealistic.

Why would beer and wine be off-limits on a vegan diet? Grain, water, hops, malt, & yeast. Or grapes & yeast. No animal products. What am I missing?

I agree that their relationship works for them. They are a unique comic strip couple. I enjoy their back-and-forths with each other.

I think that I would revolt at the ‘no beer’ part. Cruel and unusual punishment!

It would have been nice if Betty had asked her husband to join her in her rules for the month. I’d be on my phone ordering takeout if I was him.☺️

Aren’t beer and wine mostly plant based ? Unless you think the organisms causing the fermentation are “animals” not to be eaten.

This seems a bit extreme. I mean, I would have given a choice of one or the other.
