Should’ve lead with the third one then, Abbey, because if you’re convincing enough then, unless you’ve got a clear record of getting caught speeding before now that they can pull up, that might get them to go easy on you “just this once.” But since you instead saved it for last, by that point the cop already knew you weren’t being genuine and were probably only trying his patience by that point.
“I’m running late because I took a rabbit hit by another car to the wildlife shelter for treatment” (which was true)— could you maybe make it a warning?" “Normally it would be a warning but they told us to give everybody tickets today.” Great.
Back when I worked traffic a good looking woman, who thought charm would work, always got the ticket… because she thought she wouldn’t. Plain Janes often got warnings… because they thought they wouldn’t.

Not today, Abby.

Trying more than one guarantees a ticket. It says “I’ve been stopped a lot of times before.”
A polite apology, saying I screwed up and admitting I was wrong usually gets me just a warning. Of course I’m an old white guy. YMMVRadioDial Premium Member over 1 year ago
That “license” expired awhile back, Abby.

A friend of mine was sometimes offered a warning instead of a ticket if she’d agree to a date with the cop. She always opted for the ticket.
