I doubt he will actually do jail time but I think his sentence will actually be much worse in his little abysmal narcissistic world in that when this has passed he will know he is a loser whom no one really cares about at all….that is the prison of loneliness. Hell the man does not even have a dog or a cat.
As much as I hope it happens, I don’t see it. That guy is so slippery, he’d win a greased hog catching contest by standing still. He’s made a career out of dodging that bullet and letting those close to him take it in his stead. That’s all I see happening here: Everyone else will get theirs but there will be JUST enough lack of evidence where he avoids his own punishment.
And who is writing this resolution? The only ones that can actually put trump away have repeatedly refused to even consider doing so. How many proven crimes has he avoided punishment for already. Does anyone believe (not hope but BELIEVE) that he will actually be prosecuted, much less convicted, much less punished… for anything?
If Garland grows a pair it might happen. I’ve never seen an AG in my 70+ years as timid about enforcing the law against prominent people as Merrick Garland.
This sounds like Les Mis…A man who steals a loaf of bread to feed his family is hunted and chased but the real lying treasonist criminals are still running free and causing destruction…
@Rhonda Santis- I’m afraid I have to agree with you. He’s been doing it his whole life. One thing Fred taught him very well was the art of manipulation. And also who to buy.
The January 6 House Select committee has released the interview transcripts from a Donald Trump aide who testified that Florida congressman Matt Gaetz sought a preemptive presidential pardon in relation to a child sex trafficking probe.
He’ll never spend a day in prison. We haven’t even seen him indicted, yet. And even if he does get indicted somewhere for something, it will take a year or more to bring him to trial. And even then I would expect him to plead out and get probation.
And over all of that is the politics of the situation. Democratic leaders really do NOT want to prosecute the guy for very obvious reasons.

True justice is slow and deliberate. The noose slowly tightens while AG Garland practices excellent OPSEC.

If Garland chooses to not prosecute, the failure of law in the U.S. will be complete.

Just being sentenced to never hold office again would be enough. It would kill his pride.
