Alice, apologetic??….with genuine sadness and sincerity?!?

When really pressed, Alice does have a rocky core of feelings.

OMG! Alice has a heart, and it just grew three times bigger! Her gifted smiley-stone quells Dill’s tears and turns his thoughts totally away from the wrecked paper-towel tube. I guess today she has earned a commendation….
