Why the air bubbles? By now mr/ms turtle has drowned

I hate stepping on the joke, but this seems to be another obscure one.

Dan tends to assume that certain things are universal, when they be regional.

 

Forgive me if it’s obvious to you, in your area…

but to those who, like me, don’t live anywhere near one, and haven’t heard of them….

I believe this strip is a parody of a chain of buffet restaurants called “Golden Corral”.

If I didn’t read the comics comments so regularly, I wouldn’t have known either.

All-you-can-eat reefstaurant.

“Golden Corral” is an eatery, I’ve never been there but I have heard or read of it.
