Last night, I had the absolute pleasure of talking to our fellow Capper “Egrayjames” on the phone. Such a fantastic, down to earth and lovely man. I was smiling throughout the whole call.
I’m so glad he finally worked out how to call me. I do not have international calling as part of my phone plan and on the occasions I do make an international call, I have to use an app and save up credits. Apparently Egrayjames has got my number on speed dial!
I have spoken on the phone to the following past and present Cappers: Gweedo, Number Six, Eldo, Michael G, RJM and now Egrayjames.
Before I get myself to sleep, I’d like to share this photo with you all. You are unable to see my face because the main focus is my hair. I had it done just before the weekend. No idea what this kind of style is called but it’s rather festival-like.

Goodnight all and many thanks to Egrayjames for the wonderful phone call. Getting calls from international numbers make me feel important. I did get a call from Africa once but it was one of those things known as a “Wangiri scam” which is Japanese for “one ring” They are premium rate numbers!
@NumberThree Today’s strip IS funny the way our HERO Mr Andrew Capp outlook on life is classic :o) my avatar again is a picture of Rowan Atkinson our fav actor as Mr Bean grinning because he’s in a good mood like I am, how was your day? our Manic Monday should be busy as usual but we will cope I hope we both are in a good mood and with no shopping to do we will just keep inside the house and keep hydrated and wait till this evening when the greengrocer van comes up our street, keep safe and thans for caring still young Lady
The Guinness family was a story of Christian commitment to public well-being and humanitarian success. Note that Andy is still C of E after all these years (his occasional reluctance notwithstanding.)
With all the abuse of alcohol in the news lately, I’d be OK with some breweries going out of business. Did you know January is “Dry January?” No wonder they passed Prohibition a century ago – it’s a good example of “Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.”
Many British pubs have closed down in recent years. This has been largely due to the smoking ban and then the COVID pandemic. Some of them, thankfully, are starting to reopen.
Andy has a sense of history. He knows that beer was once a staple because water was not safe to drink. I believe he still maintains that strong distrust of water.
I’m currently writing to you from the library. I went to get myself a Google Play gift card. Tomorrow I’m at my volunteering. You know what that means as well don’t you? Bacon sandwich (with hopefully a rainbow cake slice) day!
Oh and speaking of gift cards, I have now redeemed my carvery one for £10 off next time I go which is the 18th. This time I’ll be getting dessert because as you know I didn’t last time. We already had chocolate fudge cake at home made by my mother’s fair hands.
Stay safe, stay well, stay warm and stay happy, pal.

Without Andy many breweries and pubs would be out of business. If that isn’t a job, I don’t know what is.

People of faith certainly drink. I think Andy has a faith in a way, at least faith that all his loafing won’t send he and Flo to ruin!

For the wine drinkers, there is “In Vino Veritas” . And that is the truth. But for Ale? Is there any truth there? Or just barley remembered nights?

Andy has a point, sort of. Breweries do employ people. But they’re not especially labor-intensive.

And we don’t want that to happen, do we. Then we’d be back to bootlegging. And we know how that turned out.

Andy’s drinking singlehandedly raised England’s GDP by a whopping 5%…of course, he didn’t pay for most of it.
