I remember a comic strip where the main character (Donald Duck?) is told by his doctor to take up golf. He prices a set of clubs and the cost of joining a country club, then remembers the doctor also said, "It’s not the swing that counts, it’s the walk. " So the character gets a job delivering mail.
If someone walks 18 holes (which I always did, except for tournaments, when we HAD to use carts), you’re walking several miles, and the constant twisting, in the swing, and bending over to pick up your ball is actually good exercise. To enjoy it, though, is a matter of not taking it too seriously… I don’t keep score, and generally, wait until Fall to play, when the leaves are changing, the temps are cooler, and I am usually alone on almost the entire course.

I really do not see golf as any serious exercise.

I don’t see how golf will help his blood pressure since golf will only increase his stress.

Don’t panic, Nancy. We all know Frank is too cheap for paying golf club dues just to exercise!

Golf is not going to help your high blood pressure at all. Quite the opposite in fact.

Golf is only good for you if you carried your bag and ran to every hole. Otherwise take up swimming.
