A few years back, I wanted a pair of overalls to wear in a ski at church. I wnt to the IFA store, where they were $69.95 plus tax. So, I wore a pair of Leviâs and a flannel shirt in the skit.
When the Gap stopped carrying their contractor series jeans, I went looking elsewhere for a pair of carpenter style button-fly jeans. I found a pair in a store called 21. When the salesclerk told me the price, I laughed because I thought it was a joke.
Someone asked my daughter how she could afford her super trendy wardrobe. She goes to thrift stores and finds stuff before it becomes blessed by the trend deities. She has more common sense than to pay someone $100 to grind holes in her jeans.
Back in the 1980âs, designer jeans were in fashion. I distinctly remember my parents saying to me, âYou are NOT getting $100 designer jeans.â Me? I just shrugged my shoulders and said, âOkayâ. I never did care for designer labels., so even though they were letting me know that if I did fancy them, donât even bother asking, it was kinda unwarranted.

If they were pre-faded and pre-ripped, it would be $105.
