We all could use some rooting for us. An who cares if an onion isn’t considered a root vegetable, it does grow in the ground. I bet a turnip or parsnip wouldn’t been as funny (or easy to tell apart from something else!) or easy to draw. :-)

An onion isn’t a root. It’s a short stem with fleshy leaves. The potato isn’t a root either. It’s a stem tuber.
