Hello, all — anyone remember me? I don’t know how long I’ll be around this time, but I want to let everyone know that (in case I get banned permanently) I’ve had a bunch of fun and tried to malign no group - or at least not exclusively. Anyway, here are some thoughts on Life:“Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what happened.” – Jennifer Yane“Old age is like a plane flying through a storm. Once you are aboard there is nothing you can do about it.” – Golda Meir“I’m so old that my blood type is discontinued.” – Bill Dane “The older I get, the more clearly I remember things that never happened. – Mark Twain “Wisdom doesn’t necessarily come with age. Sometimes, age just shows up all by itself.” – Tom Wilson “Always be nice to your children because they are the ones who will choose your retirement home.” Phyllis Diller “I don’t plan to grow old gracefully. I plan to have face-lifts until my ears meet.” – Rita Rudner “I’m at that age where my back goes out more than I do.” – Phyllis Diller“Nice to be here? At my age it’s nice to be anywhere.” – George Burns “Don’t let aging get you down. It’s too hard to get back up.” – John Wagner “First you forget names, then you forget faces, then you forget to pull your zipper up, then you forget to pull your zipper down.” – Leo Rosenberg

Petra isn’t unexplored, it’s just that everyone who explored it died centuries ago.

To play along with the Asia/moon tidbit, would Europe have a longer surface area than the planet Mercury?

Then Eurasia would also be larger than the Moon’s surface. Note I said Eurasia, not Ur….. Well, you all know—-RBION’s favorite hypocritical joke planet!

Most of what tourists see in Petra are elaborate tombs, not temples. So it makes sense that a lot of the underground stuff may be tombs also. And here comes Indiana Jones, riding high again, in just a few months!

An ant hill is not a city, sorry. ~ Tom Jones, what am I doing here?

Take care, may renowned cartographer Enrique “Shall I Make This Map Round Or Flat” Vespuciord be with you, and gesundheit.

I found the facts fascinating today! (Yes, I come for the daily facts and not just for the jokes). Went and read up on Petra and the underground cities in Turkey. The article stating 85% of Petra is still underground: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/lost-city-petra

    `

The European Space Agency (ESA) recruits one Dutch, one French and one Turkish astronaut for a space mission.

As the mission should last 10 years, they ask the astronauts what they want to bring with them in space.

The Dutch says: “I would like to master a new language, can I bring a Spanish teacher?”.

ESA recruits the best Spanish teacher trains them and sends them to the space with the others.

The French says: “I love my wife and I can’t live without her for ten years”.

So ESA trains his wife and sends her to the space too.

The Turkish says: “I’m a big smoker, I can’t go on without cigarettes for ten years”.

So ESA uses the cutting-edge technology to build a smoking container in the space shuttle and fills it with enough cigarettes for ten years.

Ten years pass, the mission is successful and the space shuttle returns home. ESA organizes a crowded ceremony for the landing.

First, the Dutch steps off and says “¡Hola!” with the perfect Spanish accent. Everyone applauds the astronaut’s double achievement.

Then, the French and his wife step off, followed by two little children. The crowd applauds like crazy, they had two kids in space!

Finally the Turkish steps off with a cigarette in his mouth, shaking and visibly traumatized. He says: “Does anyone have a lighter?”

One was an inoffensive IMO joke re 4 guys in a bar discussing what is best in their countries

One was announcing the 3 still under suspension.

Maybe next this will happen to me – - – getting deleted. ‘Stand by Me’

Do you suppose that underground Turkish city extends all the way to Petra?

If it’s unexplored, how do they know that 85% are still "available’ at Petra?

Look at it this way: Even the area of Rhode Island is larger than the surface area of a singularity of a billion-solar-masses black hole !!
