I have had Paul’s reaction more than once. Dry dog food is hard on bare or even sock feet. It hasn’t changed the food served but at least I have learned to watch where I am walking and turn the light on before entering the kitchen.

Better to step in the dog food before the dog eats rather than after.

If this kibbles were bad enough, let’s see how you’ll like your feet-scented crushed dog food.

Buckles you’re pretty smart in getting Paul’s attention!

Could be worse I suppose. Buckles could have left Legos or Tinkertoy pieces on the floor.

As usual it is hard to pick out the favorite image of the precious Buckles , But please tell me that that " pompous " expression in the third panel isn’t just ( over the top ) with the expression " lovable " with him moving away from the mess that he left on the floor for Paul to step in . And David did Pauls expression just perfect ….. OWW !

Dogs have their own ways of communicating.

I remember Garfield doing the same thing with dry cat food that Jon got him, only Jon ended up slipping and falling.

My dog is incapable of leaving any food behind uneaten. If I want to know which food she prefers, I have to show her two bowls or put different foods on opposite sides of her bowl and watch which she eats first. Either way, there will be no little piece of anything that has ever even been in the vicinity of food left behind.

He got a message alright, not sure what though…..

Almost as bad as Legos…but not as bad as cold cat puke.
