    Of course the words he is speaking now don’t count. They are not part of the official record. A baby’s (first) words only exist if mama is there to hear them.

    Actually “mama” is not a real word. It is a sound that all babies make early on that mothers decided is a word referring to them and so is one of very few “words” that mean the same in almost all languages.

    Actually, most babies’ first word is “dada”; easier to form than “mama”.
