Mike the headless chicken lived and walked for 18 months after his beheading in 1945. Today it could get elected to congress. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_the_Headless_Chicken https://www.life.com/animals/life-with-mike-the-headless-chicken-photos-of-a-famously-tough-fowl/
Farmer: “Dang! I gotta remember to pen ’em up before chopping the heads off those free range chickens!”
At first I thought the chicken should reply, “Well, I was busy running around like a . . . oh, you know . . . .” Then I realized that (hopefully) Death is asking a purely rhetorical question. Because if he’s expecting the headless chicken to get up and speak (assuming that, as a cartoon chicken, it had the power of speech), he’s got a long wait.
Is Death there to take the chicken’s soul to the afterlife, or has he just been impatiently waiting around for his dinner?

That’s certainly a very un-kosher way to dispense with a chicken.
