We can understand your point of view. You and the lads go on long rambles all the time, but a ramble with the dears, while lovely, is still a ramble. But the rest stop, now THAT’S special! Yum!
This makes me think of a pub I went to in Ireland. It was a Sunday so they weren’t serving food, but you could still get a drink (personal favorite, Murphy’s stout).
Puts me in mind of last Sunday, with my wife. We had a small piece of out of town business (about 40 miles from where we live) to take care of, and once we were done, the day was ours. My wife had already looked up a diner for breakfast, as well as some antique stores in the area. In the course of our wanderings we noticed a Mexican restaurant that looked inviting, so we decided to stop in for an early dinner. Unusual for us, to eat out twice in one day, but like the Dears, we were enjoying the day, and wanted to make it last a little longer.

Fred, you’re so adorable. Besides a nice snack, you’ll no doubt get lots of petting from the patrons of the pub!

This seems rather familiar – is it a rerun?
