When it is Hot outside, you want it cold. And when it’s cold, you want it summer beach type Hot. Quit complaining and enjoy the seasons for what they are worth and their beauty. The Almighty’s paint brush of life and creation is always at work year-round.
When it’s cold it’s very easy to warm up. Put on a sweater or throw an extra blanket on the bed. So simple. And Rose is only walking to the house next door ! Good grief! (to quote Charlie Brown) She can’t even walk the distance of her yard?
I will take winter over the miserable months of July and August anytime.
We emigrated about 1000 miles north from San Francisco to Vancouver Island. Winters are different and longer and a bit colder. I like the winter. Dressing properly is part of the fun for me. Summers are cooler but sometimes the mosquitoes are a pain. But going out on the water is fun, especially when the orcas are about.
We had a (US)$500 snow storm last week – well that is what husband calls it.
We finally someone who not only does lawn care, but also does residential snow removal (everyone we have called for over a decade was commercial only).
We paid for snow removal for the year and if there is only a minimal amount of snow and they don’t have to come for same we get back most of what we paid. Owner had already called me to ask if wanted money back or put to next year a week or so ago when the storm hit this past week. Quite frankly from what we saw if the had not come very early the snow would have been gone before they came as it was not that cold and what snow was left on off the pavement was melted by when we out. So, he figures this storm cost us the $500 refund we were getting.
