Well…. I’lll hazard a guess to the meaning of this one.

He seems to be referring to delayed gratification. If we bypass small immediate pleasures, we can have greater ones later on. Search out the “Stanford Marshmallow Experiment” for more context.

Arlo realizes that he is not good at delaying gratification. Just like the rest of us…
