Former world chess champion Boris Spassky said that he and his first wife were like “bishops of opposite colors”.

For those who don’t play chess, bishops move on either the light or the dark squares only, determined by where they’re placed at the start of the game. A light square bishop and a dark square one travel on adjacent paths, but never on the same one.
