The problem isn’t whether coffee and alcohol are "grown up’ drinks or not, the problem is your understanding or lack there of, of what a grown up actually is.
I know I live in Florida and they’re a never-ending pest, but that’s why at first I thought that thing on top of her head was a ROACH! I’m like HUH? Then I realized it’s the cap on an ice bag.
I’ve never thought of any drinks as “grown up” or not; just last night I treated myself to a rare glass of Nestle’s Quik (I’m 63, FYI). I do drink more water than I used to, due to an encounter with dehydration a couple of years ago. I think the flavored waters that are on the market are absurd; the only flavor I like to add to my water is carbon dioxide.

When you’re young and first overdo alcohol and coffee, the former is the “throw-up drink”; the latter is the “stay-up” drink.

Water is vital. It’s also delicious cold with a touch of citrus.
Last year in the nursing home, they floated lemon slices in the water pitchers. It was a nice touch.

I have been addicted to ice water since menopause started about 20 years ago. I have it with me 24 hours a day.

What I drink depends on what I want and the time of day. It’s either water, unsweetened iced tea or straight black coffee.

Water is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless liquid. It’s no wonder other liquids are more popular.
