Jeremy sounds selfish and self-absorbed, but anyone who has had to take care of an elderly person will tell you, it takes a toll both physically and emotionally.

The care giver is the real hero, no matter the affliction.

Having cared for a long term covid patient, until he died of the complications, I would recommend as much selfishness as you can muster. It’s self preservation.

Garry Trudeau was always able to stare life straight in the eye without flinching.

So maybe Jeremy’s a bit of a selfish jerk, but I’ve seen plenty of selfish jerks who would’ve walked away from this situation without a moment’s hesitation. I think I prefer this kind!

Yes, it does! Especially when the requests or demands are unreasonable, but you have to somehow distract the person or help him or her believe that you agree/have already done their bidding.
