Why would the Vatican need a nuclear bomb, their outreach program seems distructive enough.

If you really want some street cred as a country, you need to develop an anti-matter bomb. That’d outdo any nuclear bomb.

And now, for due diligence, multiple superpowers have each designated a small but powerful nuke for the heart of that country.

Monaco is the second smallest country, after the Vatican (which some dismiss as part of Italy). Monaco getting nuclear weapons, unlikely as it seems, would seem more realistic than the Vatican doing so.

The world’s smallest country would be……….The Vatican!!!!

If you go by area, the smallest country is the Vatican, but if you go by population, the smallest is Pitcairn Islands, with a population of 47. Of course, it also depends on how you define “country”. Pitcairn is a British oversees territory. If you count only independent countries, you’re back to the Vatican again, which has a population of 453.

Luxembourg is next to go. Then, who knows, maybe Monaco. We’ll try to stay serene and calm when Alabama gets the bomb. – Tom Lehrer.

That was the plot in the movie, “The Mouse That Roared”. with Peter Sellers. It really didn’t turn out well in the end actually….

I prefer the book over the movie. When I think of small countries with big bomb(bast) N Korea comes to mind
