Snapper blue fish (young blues still in the back bay, before they migrate to the ocean) 9" to 1’ long almost boneless, chop of head/tail, gut them fry them [or BBQ them wrapped in seaweed preferably but kale will work] skin side down 3-5 minutes. Flesh should be flaky and white. From my 1st Russian Blue in my 20s to my last Siamese in my 60s there wasn’t one of my cats who would refuse snapper bluefish when it was put in front of them. if people use malt vinegar or lemon juic on the fish, though, do not feed the scraps to the cats.
In school, my roommate and I brought back home leftover T-bones, from dinner, and gave them to our cats. I’ve never heard cats grow before, but they loved them, and one would issue a warning if the other got too close
So, one day I caught some rainbow trout. I put the fish on ice, took them home, and cleaned them and filleted the fish in the kitchen. Yuki, my Siamese Cat, seemed very interested. So I offered her some of the flesh and the fish head. She turned up her nose at both, but scarfed down the fins and tail like they were candy! Strange cat!
We keep our cats on regular cat food, measured portions. No people food. I had one diabetic cat (who’d been fed table scraps and too many treats, and was very overweight) who suddenly went into ketoacidosis and had to be put down. I want to avoid anything like that happening to these two.
My cats barely have enough manners to wait for me to set the food down. And all food is theirs until proven otherwise, even if a human is actively chewing on it.
There was a similar comic a couple of months ago where Arlo set the takeout container in front of Luddy and he wouldn’t eat it until it was put in his food dish. You would think Arlo would have learned the lesson by now.

If it doesn’t smell like a dead mouse he won’t eat it.

If it’s not good enough for Arlo, then it’s not good enough for Ludwig.

Amberjack. Fish similar to tuna. No way my Boo would turn that down.

No cat will eat while you’re standing there waiting for them to.

Why waste good leftovers on a cat?
Jim almost 2 years ago
my question is: Why do you have leftover amberjack?? Boring cod, perhaps haddock as well, but Amberjack? C’mon Johnson.

My d#mn cat decides NOT to eat her regular food for days on end. I just ignore her. She hasn’t starved yet.

I might give the cat a nibble as a treat, but I would eat the amberjack myself!
