When I was a freshman in high school the family moved from the suburbs south of Chicago to the western slope in Colorado.
I soon found myself dressed up like a drug store cowboy wanna be. It didn’t last very long, it just wasn’t me… I never really fit in with the goat roper crowd in school. I continued to wear the boots the rest of my life but the rest of it, especially that darn (original wording was censored) hat, went away pretty darn (original wording was censored) quick.
And these days (a bit over 50 years later) I only wear the boots when I’m riding the motorcycle.
