It’s on us (constituent voters) that they are not called out on vapid promises. Even sadder, we know they suspect they won’t deliver in the first place. Free t-shirts, that go unworn, can buy a lot of regret.
This is why I only vote for the party that’s going to lose. Sure, they lie to me, but I can pretend their failure to deliver on their promises is solely due to their not being in power.
